What does Aspire do?
We are a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) in the State of Washington providing employers with claims management, safety, loss control, financial analyses, and retro management in Washington’s Monopolistic workers’ compensation system.
What is Retro?
Retrospective Rating (Retro) is an incentive program offered by Labor and Industries (L&I) to help employers in Washington State reduce their workers’ compensation costs. Employers can earn a refund based on their performance.
Why can I only get workers comp insurance coverage in Washington from the state’s Labor and Industries (L&I)?
Washington is one of only four states that is “monopolistic” This means Employers purchase coverage through L&I, which in turn manages all the claims and pays the benefits. L&I is financed by premiums paid by employers.
I’m a safe employer; can I get any of the premiums I pay to L&I back?
Yes. L&I offers a program called Retrospective Rating (Retro) where you can potentially earn a partial refund on the premiums you pay to L&I. You can participate in retro as an individual or as a member of a Retro group.
Does Aspire represent any Retro Groups that I could join?
Aspire is the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Retro program. If you perform any type of construction, we can work with you to determine if you would fit into ABC’s group. We also work with a wide variety of individual clients, some of which have their own individual retro program.
